UPDATE: Erik Palmer-Brown debuted for the U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team on Friday in a scrimmage against the LA Galaxy. He also started for the U17's against Nike's The Chance Team on Monday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Sporting Kansas City Academy defender Erik Palmer-Brown has been at the U.S. Soccer Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla. for less than a month but he's already made a strong impression on U.S. U-17 Men's National Team head coach Richie Williams. Palmer-Brown was one of eight defenders named to the 21-player travel roster on Thursday for the U.S. U-17 Men's National Team's training camp that begins today and continues through Feb. 4th at U.S. Soccer's National Training Center at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

The United States U-17's will play two matches during the camp, facing the LA Galaxy on Friday and Nike’s The Chance Team, featuring players from around the world, on Monday. Follow @USSoccer_YNT on Twitter for updates.

Palmer-Brown is one of three players on the training camp roster who is new to the Residency Program in the Spring Semester and seeking his first cap with the U-17 Men's National Team. Last September, Palmer-Brown was at U.S. Soccer's National Training Center as a member of the United States U-15 National Team for a training camp under head coach Tony Lepore.

The U.S. U-17 MNT is preparing for the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, which takes place April 6-19 in Panama.
