Academy season comes to close

The last of the Sporting KC Academy teams finished play today in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Showcase.

The U16’s fell 3-1 to Lonestar Academy to end the tournament with a record of 1-1-1. Sporting KC led early with a goal from Cole Stevenson, but were unable to hold the lead. The goal from Stevenson was his 13th of the season which was a team-high.

That concludes the end of the Academy season until August 1 for all the teams.
