Pat-Curran

Sporting Club partner PAT CURRAN brings a love of both soccer and the Kansas City community to the Sporting Kansas City organization.

Based in Kansas City, Mr. Curran has been an active and successful private equity investor since 1979 and was a founder and Principal of C3 Holdings. Prior to this, he served as CEO of Cook Composites & Polymers, a chemicals business that he helped create through a joint venture between Cook Paint and Total Chimie of France. He spent nearly 20 years at Cook Paint, working his way up to CEO, and performed one of the first leveraged buyouts on this company in 1979.

In 1989, Curran joined four others to form C3 Holdings. C3 was engaged in the leveraged buyout business, and purchased ten businesses. When the public debt market evaporated in early 2000, Curran and three of his partners formed C3 Capital Partners, a registered SBIC. In 2007, C3 Capital Partners II was initiated. C3 Capital specializes in providing mezzanine to the middle market.

He has served on the board of numerous highly successful Midwestern companies, including Applebee's International, Gold Banc, Lockton Companies, Unitog, Sealright, JPS Packaging, and American Safety Razor. He has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University and a BA in Economics from Stanford University.

Curran’s interest in soccer began when he watched his kids play the game while they were growing up. He became very interested in Sporting Kansas City when he saw the lack of quality facilities in Kansas City that were able to house competitive teams, along with the unsuitability of football stadiums to house professional soccer teams. Curran loves watching Sporting Kansas City and is looking forward to Sporting Club's involvement with the team for years to come.

Curran is married to wife, Janet, and has four children, Josephine, Betty Jean, Wiley and Olivia.
