Kevin Gray Awards
Kevin Gray (1959 - 2011)
The Kevin Gray Player of the Year Awards were established in 2011 in honor and memory of the late Kansas City Sports Commission president Kevin Gray (shown on right). The awards, co-sponsored by Sporting Kansas City and Global Sports International, recognize the athletic achievements of soccer players in the Kansas City area.
The following awards will be bestowed annually, as decided by a panel of Kansas City soccer leaders:
- Male Youth Player of the Year -- given to a high school senior for club/high school success
- Female Youth Player of the Year -- given to a high school senior for club/high school success
- Adult Player of the Year -- given to a collegiate or professional player from Kansas City
The awards ceremony is held annually during the summer at Sporting Park in conjunction with a home Sporting Kansas City match.
Nominate:
Nominations are now being accepted for both the 2013 youth and adult players of the year. To nominate a player, please fill out the below form and either: Mail it to Kevin Gray Player of the Year Award, c/o Huw Williams, 5360 College Blvd, Overland Park, KS 66211 or email to hwilliams@gcitravel.net
All nominations must be postmarked no later than June 14, 2013.

This annual event celebrates the life of Kevin Gray, former President/CEO of the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation. Kevin was a father, husband, son and leader!
In 2012, the event exceeded all expectations--there were more than 1,500 enthusiastic paid participants, hundreds of dedicated volunteers and raised nearly $80,000.
