Ike Opara - Sporting KC vs. New England Revolution - April 28, 2018

Sporting Kansas City defender Ike Opara and Kansas City Star reporter Sam McDowell released the newest episode in their podcast series on Saturday.

In wake of the recent federal court case involving corruption in college basketball, Opara and McDowell dove into how the NCAA can fairly compensate its athletes.

Opara began his MLS career with the San Jose Earthquakes as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft out of Wake Forest University. His three-year collegiate career at Wake Forest saw him earn ACC Defender of the Year and All-ACC First Team honors in both 2008 and 2009. The center back was an NSCAA All-American and M.A.C. Hermann Trophy semifinalist as a junior and helped lead the Deamon Deacons to the NCAA College Cup all three seasons, including the team’s NCAA National Championship in 2007.
