Interview

New edition of Behind the Shield presented by Audi provides all-access look at SKCvPOR last Sunday

New in 2024, Behind the Shield presented by Audi will be available after every match this season with the video series - produced by Sporting Kansas City's full-time digital storytellers - providing fans with an immersive viewing experience highlighted by exclusive interviews and all-access footage from Sporting Kansas City players, trainings and matchdays.

This week's BTS captures the sights and sounds from the club's 3-3 draw against the Portland Timbers, taking viewers around Children's Mercy Park with a special spotlight on the one and only Brisket Bob.

Fans can also hear from defenders Jake Davis and Robert Voloder as well as forwards Daniel Salloi and Alenis Vargas during the 9-minute episode, which can be seen on SportingKC.com, Sporting Kansas City's YouTube channel and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

"I think we just have to be able to separate the positive and the negative things, and work on the negative but also not lose who we are because that’s what makes us a good team," Salloi says. "The good thing is it’s early on in the season. You are allowed to make mistakes but you need to figure out how to solve them and that’s what we are working on."

Sporting Kansas City will host Inter Miami CF at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in a highly-anticipated match-up with the reigning Leagues Cup champions who will travel to Kansas City for the first time in club history with a star-studded roster that features Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com and Saturday's showdown will be available to watch on Apple TV for MLS Season Pass subscribers in addition to radio coverage on Sports Radio 810 WHB, La Grande 1340 AM and SiriusXM FC. Pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action, including a  watch party at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power and Light District.
