Sporting Kansas City Show: Amidst social strife, Peter Vermes gives insight on discussions with players

Running throughout the season on Sports Radio 810 WHB, the Sporting Kansas City Show is available on several podcast hubs including Spotify and iTunes as well as SportingKC.com/SportingKCShow. With Nate Bukaty, Carter Augustine and Aly Trost hosting the weekly program, Sporting fans have a place to go to catch up on club storylines, guest interviews and more.

A rare Friday edition of the Sporting Kansas City Show debuted on the eve of the club's road match against the Colorado Rapids, serving as a preview for the Western Conference clash and a look back at an emotional week for professional sports and American society as a whole.

Hosts Nate Bukaty, Carter Augustine and Aly Trost hit on several compelling narratives to kick off the show and heard from Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes, who voiced his support of the players in light of Major League Soccer postponing five matches on Wednesday in response to the tragic events that recently took place in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Over the last few days, athletes and professional sports teams have boycotted games and led peaceful protests across the country. MLS announced Friday afternoon that regular season action would continue Friday night and into the weekend.

The crew was also joined by special guest and soccer analyst Brian Dunseth to get his perspective on this tumultuous week in the soccer world, controversial allegations surrounding Real Salt Lake leadership and more.

Tonight's match between Sporting and Colorado will kick off at 8 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports GO, Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.
