Last week, several members of Sporting Kansas City participated in La X 1250 AM’s First Annual Milagros para Niños Spanish radiothon for the Children's Miracle Network. La X 1250 AM is the most listened to Spanish radio station in the Kansas City metropolitan area and is the sister station to the Spanish home of Sporting Kansas City, La Gran D 1340 AM.
On April 21st and 22nd, 2011 La X 1250 AM donated their air space for 12 hours each day (7am-7pm) to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. The Children’s Miracle Network raises funds and awareness for 170 hospitals, treating 17 million children each year to help overcome diseases and injuries of every kind. All funds raised locally go to help children served in Kansas City
Contributing to the cause for Sporting Kansas City was Designated Player Omar Bravo, Honduras National Team member Roger Espinoza and Assistant Coach Octavio Zambrano, who all encouraged the folks in Kansas City to call in and donate for the worthy cause.
Bravo, in his first season in MLS, is already becoming a recognizable figure in the Kansas City community.
“I’m delighted to help with this radiothon. I find it very important to try to get those people involved who really have that conviction to support and help out.”
Bravo also recorded a commercial that ran throughout the radiothon encouraging people to please donate.
Espinoza, who appeared in the 2010 FIFA World Cup for Honduras, donated his time to the radiothon after practice by going to a live interview and signing autographs at the Price Chopper in Olathe, Kansas.
In the end, La X 1250 AM was able to raise over $50,000 for Children’s Miracle Network, an unprecedented amount that will all go directly to help the Children of Kansas City.

El pasado jueves varios miembros del Sporting Kansas City participaron en “Milagros para Niños”, el primer radioton anual de La X 1250 AM, estación hermana de la casa oficial en español del Sporting Kansas City, La Gran D 1340 AM con el propósito de recaudar fondos para el hospital de pediatría de KU parte del Children's Miracle Network.
El 21 y 22 de abril de 2011, La X 1250 AM donó su espacio durante 12 horas cada día de 7a.m. a 7 p.m. para recaudar fondos para el Children's Miracle Network.
El Children's Miracle Network recauda fondos y crea conciencia para 170 hospitales que proporcionan tratamiento de 17 millones de niños cada año para ayudar a superar enfermedades y lesiones de todo tipo.

Bravo también grabó un comercial que se transmitió durante todo el radiotón para animar a la gente que donaran.
