Mixed fortunes for SKC players at Gold Cup

Sporting Kansas City sent four players to the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, tied for the most amongst all MLS teams. While Roger Espinoza helped Honduras advance to the semifinals on Saturday with his first appearance of the tournament, Shavar Thomas captained Jamaica in a 2-0 quarterfinal loss to the United States at RFK Stadium.


Earlier in the regional championship, Stephane Auvray started all three opening round matches for Guadeloupe, including their Group C finale at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park against the United States, and Craig Rocastle's tournament was cut short with Grenada after suffering a knee injury in their opener against Thomas and Jamaica.

               - Started and played 90 minutes in 1-0 loss vs United States in group stage
     - Midfielder Craig Rocastle (Grenada, 6 all-time appearances)
               - Started and played 45 minutes in 4-0 loss vs Jamaica in group stage 


Espinoza and Honduras will next face Mexico on Wednesday at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
