Sporting KC Nominated for Sports Team of the Year

On Monday, Sporting Kansas City was selected as a nominee in the Sports Team of the Year category for the 2012 Sports Business Awards in the SportsBusiness Journal. Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal is considered as one of the most respected sports business publications in the world.


Kansas City joined the Boston Bruins, Dayton Dragons, Stewart-Haas Racing and the Texas Rangers. 


Also, LIVESTRONG Sporting Park was one of four nomineess for Sports Facility of the Year. The Amway Center, Mercedez-Benz Superdome and Salt River Fields were the three other finalists.


The winners will be announced on May 23rd in New York City.

The Boston Bruins, Dayton Dragons, Sporting Kansas City, Stewart-Haas Racing and Texas Rangers have been selected as nominees in the Sports Team of the Year category for the 2012Sports Business Awards, presented by Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily.
The Sports Business Awards recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in the business of sports for the period from March 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012. Sports teams in the major and minor leagues and U.S. national teams, in leagues whose central offices are located in North America, were eligible.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony that will be held Wednesday, May 23, at the New York Marriott Marquis at Times Square.
