Sporting a proud part of KCK -

Sporting Kansas City was honored at the
Kansas City Kansas Convention & Visitors Bureau's Tourism Celebration
on Wednesday. Unified Government Commissioner John Mendez presented the award for Tourism Organization of the Year to Sporting KC VP of Communications Rob Thomson at the annual event, held at the Jack Reardon Convention Center.

The club was chosen for the award for attracting unprecedented attention to the KC region through media coverage, merchandise sales, social media and marketing campaigns. LIVESTRONG Sporting Park was also recognized for hosting the Tourism Event of the Year in Farm Aid, the venue's inaugural concert that more than 18,000 people attended to see Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Neil Young. Global Spectrum General Manager Phil Laws accepted the award for LSP.
