Sporting Kansas City learned its path to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final on Thursday as the U.S. Soccer Federation announced the possible semifinal pairings and locations ahead of the quarterfinal round.

Sporting Kansas City will host the Dayton Dutch Lions at 7:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in the tournament quarterfinals. Tickets are included for all current Season Ticket Members and are available to purchase at Ticketmaster.com or at the LSP Box Offices.

Should the home side advance, Sporting KC will face the winner of Tuesday’s match between the Philadelphia Union (MLS) and Harrisburg City Islanders (USL PRO) in the semifinal round on July 10 or 11. A meeting with Philadelphia would mean a trip to PPL Park, while a match-up with Harrisburg would be played at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.

Sporting Kansas City began the tournament with a 3-2 win over Orlando City SC last month and advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids one week later.

The U.S. Open Cup is the oldest annual team tournament in American sports history with origins in 1914 and is named after Lamar Hunt, the original founder of Sporting Kansas City. The tournament celebrates its 99th annual edition in 2012 with the largest field in tournament history, consisting of 32 amateur teams and 32 professional clubs.

Sporting Kansas City won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2004, defeating the Chicago Fire 1-0 on a golden goal by striker Igor Simutenkov at Arrowhead Stadium.
