Team celebrates vs New York Red Bulls

SPORTING KC TO HOST NEW YORK RED BULLS ON SUNDAY

Sporting Kansas City will host the New York Red Bulls at 8 p.m. CT on Sunday at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Tickets for the match are available online at Ticketmaster.com or at the LSP Box Offices. The match, presented by Home Deport, will be nationally broadcast live on ESPN2 (English) and ESPN Deportes (Spanish), as well as Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Gran D 1340 AM (Spanish) locally.

New York is currently in second place in the Eastern, trailing Sporting KC by two points. The two sides last met in October, when Sporting Kansas City defeated the Red Bulls 2-0 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.


Sporting Kansas City will host Military Appreciation Night in conjunction with the match, featuring several special activities at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Military members and their families can receive discounted tickets for the match by showing a military ID at the LSP Box Offices or utilizing a special promotion code online at Ticketmaster.com (contact a MWR or USO).

JIMMY NIELSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN SALVATION ARMY RADIOTHON THURSDAY

Sporting KC goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen will make an appearance at the annual Larry Stewart Memorial Radiothon this Thursday at Crown Center. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Salvation Army Children's Shelter, which cares for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment, or neglect. 

Nielsen will be interviewed live at 4:45 p.m. CT at Crown Center.


VOTE FOR SPORTING KC PLAYERS TO BE TOP 24 UNDER 24 IN MLS

Vote now to rank Sporting Kansas City players in the third annual edition of MLSsoccer.com's 24 Under 24. For the first time, the fans' vote will count toward the final list of the top players under the age of 24.

SPORTING KC DEFEATS TORONTO FC ON THE ROAD, REMAINS IN FIRST PLACE

Sporting Kansas City won for the seventh time on the road this season, a new club record, with a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday at BMO Field. Forward Kei Kamara scored the lone goal of the match, his team-leading ninth of the season, in the 83rd minute off of a low, driving free kick.


Graham Zusi earned his League-best 11th assist of the year on the play and Jimmy Nielsen recorded his 11th shutout of the season, also a League high. Sporting Kansas City remains in first place in the Eastern Conference with 46 points, two points clear of the New York Red Bulls.

SPORTING KC LAUNCHES 2013 SEASON TICKET RENEWAL CAMPAIGN

Sporting Kansas City has begun the club's 2013 season ticket renewal campaign for current Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members to secure their seats at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park next season.


The "Love and Sporting" themed renewal campaign gives current Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members the first chance to secure 2013 season tickets by contacting their Client Service Representative. Additionally, Sporting Kansas City is offering renewal incentives for Season Ticket Members who pay in full and/or renew during the First Chance Campaign.


Beginning with the 2013 season, all Season Ticket Members will receive a 5% discount on team merchandise by presenting their Season Ticket Membership Card at any Sporting Style store during a Sporting KC home match. Additionally, the 2013 Sporting Kansas City Referral Program will reward Season Ticket Members whose friends and family members purchase new 2013 full season ticket seats.

TICKETS FOR USMNT WORLD CUP QUALIFIER AT LSP ON SALE

Tickets for the U.S. Men's National Team World Cup qualifier at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park are now on sale to the general public through ussoccer.com, by calling 1-800-745-3000, at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout the Kansas City area (including Hen House Markets) and the LIVESTRONG Sporting Park ticket office (open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.).


The MNT concludes the Semifinal Round of FIFA World Cup qualifying by facing Guatemala on October 16 at 6 p.m. CT. Media members wishing to cover the match may apply for credentials online at ussoccer.com. All applications must be submitted before Wednesday, October 3.
