Breast Cancer Awareness Night at LSP

Breast Cancer Awareness Night at LSP -

Sporting Kansas City and LIVE
STRONG
Sporting Park will play host to Breast Cancer Awareness Night in conjunction with Friday's match-up versus the Chicago Fire. The game is part of a League-wide effort with MLS W.O.R.K.S. and Sporting Kansas City will be the first amongst all MLS clubs this year take part in the initiative by raising awareness and funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

To recognize those who are battling this disease, LSP will have glimpses of pink scattered throughout the stands, while Sporting Kansas City players will show their support by wearing an MLS W.O.R.K.S. ribbon patched on their jerseys, as well as pink adidas sweatbands and pink shoelaces. Even the match balls will be pink!

Limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness scarves and t-shirts for men and women will be available for purchase throughout LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on Friday, so make sure you pick up some gear to show your support. A portion of all proceeds from the fundraising efforts will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition, Graham Zusi and Kei Kamara’s game-worn jerseys and four team-signed pink soccer balls will be available for auction at www.MLSsoccer.com/works beginning Oct. 15 as part of the League’s effort to raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment.

At halftime, Sporting KC will recognize the Ladies of SKC for their continued fundraising efforts, including a recent fundraiser benefiting Hope Lodge, an organization that provides housing to cancer patients traveling to Kansas City for treatment.

Come out and support Sporting Kansas City as they attempt to secure a berth in the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs. Make sure you wear your Sporting Blue but don’t forget your pink trim!
