The 2012 MLS Re-Entry Process will begin on December 7 with Stage One and conclude on December 14 with Stage Two.
The list of players eligible for the draft (out of contract or option declined) can be found here. Sporting KC have two players on the list, Luke Sassano and Korede Aiyegbusi, who both had their options declined.
Since its inception in 2010, Sporting KC have only drafted one player in the the re-entry process (Frankie Hejduk in 2010) but subsequently traded his rights to the LA Galaxy in exchange for the opportunity to sign Sassano.

Thursday, December 6
5:00 pm: Blackout period begins whereby clubs may no longer sign and/or trade their own Re-Entry Eligible players. Additionally, eligible players may opt out of the Re-Entry Process prior to 5 p.m. ET on December 6.
Friday, December 7 – Stage One draft of the Re-Entry Process
3:00 pm: League Office conducts Stage One of the Re-Entry Process (via conference call).
Clubs must exercise the option for, or extend a Bona Fide Offer to, all players selected in Stage 1. Players that were out of contract may either accept or reject the Bona Fide Offer. Should a player reject the offer, the drafting club will hold the right of first refusal for that player in MLS. Players with option years left on their contract will automatically be added to the drafting club’s roster.
From December 7 to December 13
Blackout period ends after the Stage One draft and former clubs may again sign and/or sign and trade their own draft-eligible players to new contracts (i.e., a Club may sign its player not selected in Stage 1), provided that all parties agree to any such trade (i.e., current club, future club and player).
Thursday, December 13
5:00 pm: Beginning of blackout period whereby clubs may no longer sign and/or trade their own draft eligible players.
Friday, December 14– Stage Two draft of the Re-Entry Process
3:00 pm: League Office conducts Stage Two of the Re-Entry Process (via conference call).
