Peterson Joseph to represent Haiti at 2012 Caribbean Cup

Peterson Joseph - Sporting KC v Seattle Sounders - June 20, 2012

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Peterson Joseph has been selected to the Haiti roster for the 2012 Caribbean Cup. Joseph played in five of six matches during qualification and helped lead Haiti to a (W-L-D) 5-1-0 record.

Haiti are in Group A with Antigua & Barbuda, Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago, and Dominican Republic. Group B includes Cuba, French Guyana, Martinique, and defending champions Jamaica.

Les Grenadiers (Haiti) will play Trinidad & Tobago on December 7, Dominican Republic on December 9, and hosts Antigua & Barbuda on December 11.

The top two teams from each group will reach the knockout phase (semifinals) and clinch a spot in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The semifinals are scheduled for December 14 with the third place and final set for December 16.

Haiti won the Caribbean Cup in 2007 but have failed to get out of the group stage in the last two tournaments (2008, 2010).
