The 2013 U.S. Youth Futsal Nationals were held last weekend at the New Century Fieldhouse in Gardner, Kan., featuring 124 teams from across the United States competing in 19 divisions. Sporting Kansas City entered six teams in the competition with four of them reaching the championship match in their respective age groups.
- Boys U13: Sporting KC Academy Navy were crowned national champions after besting Sporting Blue Valley NPL 99-00
- Boys U15: The U14 Sporting KC Academy White finished runners-up after falling 6-3 to WI Futsal Academy in the final
- Boys U16/17: The U16 Sporting KC Academy took home second place after battling BNC Revolution B for the title
- Boys U17: The U17 Sporting KC Academy (shown above) lifted the trophy with a win over Celtic United
Now in its seventh year, the U.S. Youth Futsal Nationals is the largest national youth futsal tournament in the United States. U.S. Youth Futsal has over 45 leagues across the U.S. and hosts five regional tournaments to serve as qualifiers for nationals.
