Sporting Kanas City and the Sporting Kansas City Academy announced a series of eight camps for youth soccer players of all ages to take place in 2013. The camps offered will provide opportunities for varying skill and experience levels.
The first three camps of 2013 are geared toward the more seasoned soccer player who desires a future with the Sporting Kansas City Academy. The Pre-Academy Spring Break Camp will take place from March 18-20 and is for boys ages 8-16. Participants attending the Pre-Academy Spring Break Camp have the opportunity to showcase their skills for potential selection into the Academy program.
Next up will be the invitational Spring Academy Evaluation Camp. This camp will last for six weeks and take place from April 8 - May 14 on every Monday or Tuesday night. All players require an invitation to register for the Spring Academy Evaluation Camp and must be boys born in 2000, 2001, 2002 or 2003.
In advance of the Sporting Kansas City Academy tryouts, Sporting KC and Sporting KC Academy will host a Pre-Tryout Camp during the first week of June for boys ages 8-15. All three camps will be held at Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.
Later in the month of June will be the first of three SKC Youth Camps at St. Teresa's Academy. All three of these camps will be for boys and girls ages 4-13 and will then be broken down into two sessions. The first will be targeted for 4-6 year olds and will last from 9-10 a.m. CT each day and the second will be aimed for 7-13 year olds and will last from 10:30 a.m. CT - 12:30 p.m. CT. Both groups will train under these schedules from Monday to Thursday. The second SKC Youth Camp at St. Teresa's Academy will be from July 15-18 and the third will be from July 29-August 1.
And then lastly, Sporting Kansas City and the Sporting Kansas City Academy will host two camps for competitive-level boys and girls. First will be the Boys and Girls Development Camp, which will be held from July 8-10. Boys and girls ages 8-15 will be coached in a competitive environment for an hour-and-a-half for a total of three days per age group. The second will be a Goalkeepers and Strikers Camp for competitive-level boys and girls ages 10-18. Both competitive camps will also be held at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.
