Going for eight straight

Sporting Kansas City will face Toronto FC in the second match of the Major League Soccer regular season at the Rogers Centre on Saturday, March 9. This match marks the first between the two clubs to be played at the venue and also the first regular season MLS match held at the facility in the League’s history.

Sporting Kansas City and Toronto FC have met 15 times since the Canadian side joined MLS in 2007 and Sporting KC has garnered quite the record, going 8-3-4 all-time including a seven-game unbeaten streak throughout the past three seasons.

While Kanas City has yet to suffer a loss against Toronto FC since April 26, 2009, they do not maintain an equally impressive road record. Sporting Kansas City is just 2-2-3 against Toronto FC at BMO Field. But, of those seven matches at BMO Field, only one was a multi-goal game; in fact, the two teams have combined for just five total goals in seven all-time meetings at BMO Field.

Hopefully a new backdrop will generate more goals on the road for a Sporting Kansas City team that is coming off a three-goal outburst in their season-opening match against the Philadelphia Union.

The match will kick off at 12:30 p.m. CT and will be aired live on KCWE. Join us at Sporting Kansas City's Official Watch Party in the Boulevard Members Club (doors will open at 11:30 a.m. CT) and follow @SKCGameday for a live play-by-play.
