For only the second time this season, Sporting Kansas City is off from MLS play for the weekend thanks to the international break. But just because there is no game on the schedule doesn't mean fans will miss out on a chance to see Sporting KC over the next couple of days. Check out the events below, where you can meet, greet and, yes, tweet your pic with a Sporting KC player.


Friday, June 7

  • Benny Feilhaber at the 810 WHB Sports Zone tent at Lee's Summit Downtown Days festival from 5-6:30 p.m. CT
  • Jimmy Nielsen at Shop MO Sports (874 S. State Route 291) in Liberty from 6:30-7:30 p.m. CT


Saturday, June 8

  • Jimmy Nielsen at Rally House (8650 N. Boardwalk Ave.) in North Kansas City from 12-1:30 p.m. CT
  • Jimmy Nielsen at Naomi's Hallmark (12050 Blue Valley Parkway) in Overland Park from 4-5:30 p.m. CT.
  • Ike Opara at GasMart (11950 W. 135th Street) in Overland Park from 12:30-2 p.m. CT


Of course, there will also be three international matches for fans to follow as five Sporting Kansas City players hope to represent their respective national teams. Graham Zusi, Matt Besler and the U.S. Men's National Team resume FIFA World Cup Qualifying at 8:30 p.m. CT on Friday in Kingston, Jamaica. On Saturday, Kei Kamara and Sierra Leone host group leaders Tunisia at 11:30 a.m. CT in FIFA World Cup Qualifying while Haiti -- featuring Mechack Jerome and Peterson Joseph -- take on defending World Cup champions Spain at 3 p.m. CT.
