Match time moved one hour earlier for Sporting KC match at San Jose on August 18

(July 28, 2013) – Sporting Kansas City’s match at the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, August 18 will now kick off at 9 p.m. CT, one hour earlier than originally scheduled.

Sporting Kansas City will make their final trip to Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. for the lone meeting between the clubs in the 2013 regular season. San Jose, the reigning Supporters' Shield winners, will open a new soccer-specific stadium in 2014.


The Aug. 18 match will air nationally on Univision Deportes Network (Espanol) and locally on KSMO-TV (English). Sporting Kansas City is unbeaten in their last four matches against San Jose to even the all-time series at 20-20-7.


The Earthquakes currently have three players – Clarence Goodson, Alan Gordon and Chris Wondolowski -- with the U.S. Men’s National Team alongside Sporting KC defender Matt Besler. The U.S. plays Panama today at 3 p.m. CT in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup final live on FOX and Univision. The Kansas City Power & Light District will host a watch party with Sporting KC All-Star Aurelien Collin in attendance.
