It was a good day. We got 75 minutes in for all the boys between the two games we played, the one earlier this morning and now this one. From that perspective, it was exactly what we wanted to get. I thought the team we played (Fluminense) was a good representation of a little more the style that Cruz Azul plays. It was good to have an opponent like that in this tournament.
We had a different way of going about it. The group that started the game I wanted to get them 75 minutes. The group that came on the last 15 minutes, they played 60 minutes this morning. I wanted to give them another 15 so that everyone got 75 minutes. I think we had very good intensity, good hunger to win the ball back, and also good hunger to go forward so from that point of view it was very good.
On Fluminense...
I think they weren't ready for our pressure. I think they were a little surprised that we pressed the game in the way that we did. In the beginning, they tried to come out and match the intensity. Overall, I think we made it difficult for them over the 90 minutes.
On C.J. Sapong...
He got kicked in the calf and it knotted up a little bit so he came off. It wasn't anything special, just his calf knotted up.
On Jimmy Medranda...
It was a good game for him to play. He gave us some very good opportunities. He's always good at putting defenders on their heels so from that point of view it was very good and I thought it was a good day for him.
