Sporting KC Academy's Nic Jaimes invited to train with U.S. Futsal National Team -

Sporting Kansas City Academy U18 forward Nic Jaimes has been invited to join the U.S. Futsal National Team for training from May 30 through June 3 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The U.S. Futsal National Team is coached by Keith Tozer and is currently preparing for the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England (June 5-8) as well as a pair of friendlies against France (June 12 & 14).

"It's still surreal that I'm getting an opportunity like this," Jaimes said. "I'm excited to show what I can do. Jon Parry is a huge futsal proponent and playing futsal during our winter offseason has really helped me get an early exposure to the system of play. I've learned to be quick on the ball and have the right positioning. I've developed a good understanding for the game."

Jaimes was a member of the Sporting KC Academy U17's coached by Jon Parry that were crowned champions at U.S. Youth Futsal Nationals in February.

He has appeared in 19 games for the Sporting KC Academy U18's during the 2013-14 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season with four goals. A member of the U16's during the 2012-13 USSDA campaign, Jaimes scored five goals in 24 games last season.

Jaimes is rated the No. 80 boys player in the nation for the Class of 2015 and the No. 4 player in the Heartland Region according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. He is currently concluding his junior year at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas.
