Sporting Kansas City departs for the East Coast on Monday to open a three-game road trip. The reigning MLS Cup champions will take on the New England Revolution at 6:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Gillette Stadium, followed by a trip to face the New York Red Bulls at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.
Wednesday's rematch of the 2013 Eastern Conference Semifinals will air live on KMCI-TV 38 the Spot in Kansas City and on SKCTV across the Midwest with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. CT. The team's official watch party will be held at Turn 2 Sports Bar & Restaurant inside Hollywood Casino, featuring $6 wings and $3 Boulevard draft specials.
Saturday's match will be nationally televised on NBCSN and fans are invited to attend watch parties at the Johnny's Tavern locations at the KC Power & Light district (1310 Grand Boulevard) and in Overland Park (6765 W. 119th Street). Select Boulevard draft specials will be available, as well as the "Blue Believer" signature cocktail (Dragon Berry, Lemon-Lime Red Bull and Blue Curacao).
Following the match, Red Bull Arena will host a Special Olympics Exchange Match between Special Olympics Kansas and Special Olympics New Jersey. In 2013, Special Olympics Kansas partnered with Sporting Kansas City through the Sporting Club Network and formed the Kansas Unified Soccer League earlier this year. Saturday's match will feature two 20-minute halves and is part of the New York Red Bulls annual 11 Days of Service.
A new edition of The Sporting KC Show will air from 7-8 p.m. CT on Tuesday on Sports Radio 810 WHB. Fans can listen live on 810 AM, 810whb.com or via the station's free mobile app, and can also join the discussion by calling 913-3-810-810.
On Thursday, tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CT for the NCAA Division II Football Championship to be held at Sporting Park on Dec. 20. Hosted by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Associations and the Kansas City Sports Commission, the championship game will be played inside the state-of-the-art stadium for the next four years. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster.com while supplies last.
Buzz Beach Ball, presented by 96.5 The Buzz and Sporting KC, returns to Sporting Park on Friday featuring Arctic Monkeys, Weezer and The 1975 among the dozen acts that will perform on two stages. On Friday, the Final Draw for the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Championship will be held in Miami, Florida. The draw will determine the groups and match-ups for the eight-team competition, which is headlined by the No. 1 ranked U.S. Women's Nationaal Team and will qualify three teams for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup next summer. Sporting Park will host the opening four games of the tournament on Oct. 15 and 16. Series tickets to see all four games are currently on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
