Besler, Feilhaber and Zusi help MLS All-Stars to 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur

Besler and Zusi - MLS All-Star Game - July 29, 2015

Matt Besler, Benny Feilhaber and Graham Zusi each played 45 minutes in the AT&T MLS All-Star Game against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. First-half strikes from Kaka and David Villa lifted the All-Stars to a 2-1 win over the Premier League side, who received a goal from Harry Kane before the break.

Besler and Zusi started and played the first half, while Feilhaber featured in the final 45 minutes to mark his All-Star debut. With the win, the All-Stars improved to 9-3-1 all-time against international competition in the annual showcase.

Besler has led Sporting KC to a league-high nine shutouts in 2015 and boasts a 12-3-6 record as a starter in all competitions. Feilhaber has entered league MVP discussion by setting MLS career highs in 2015 with seven goals and 10 assists, while his 14 assists in all competitions are four shy of the club's single-season record.

Zusi, who on Wednesday became the only player to feature in every MLS All-Star Game since 2012, has recorded two goals and four assists this season and returns to the club Thursday after spending the previous month with the U.S. Men's National Team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Sporting KC's three All-Stars will be available for selection Saturday when the team hosts rivals Houston Dynamo at Sporting Park. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT and a limited number of tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com.
