Krisztian Nemeth to join Hungary for final two Euro 2016 qualifiers

Krisztian Nemeth - Sporting KC at Vancouver Whitecaps - July 12, 2015

Sporting Kansas City forward Krisztian Nemeth was named to the Hungary Men's National Team roster on Thursday for their final pair of UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers. Hungary will host the Faroe Islands on Oct. 8 before concluding their qualifying campaign on the road at Greece on Oct. 11.

Hungary (3-1-3, 12 points) currently sits in third place in Group F with the top two teams receiving berths into next summer's European championship. In addition, the best overall third place team will also automatically advance, while all other third place finishers enter a two-legged playoff round in November to determine the competition's final four teams.

Nemeth has 19 international appearances for Hungary, including roles in each of the team's past three Euro 2016 qualifiers. The 26-year-old striker has 14 goals and seven assists across all competitions for Sporting KC in his debut season and scored in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final last night.
