Kicking off today, Sporting KC and Swope Soccer Village will host the Generation adidas Cup Central Region Fall Event. Play will run through Monday and include five MLS Academy squads: Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, Houston Dynamo, FC Dallas and Sporting KC. Sporting KC’s U-16 and U-18 squads will participate in the U-17 event, rounding out the field to an even six teams.
Teams will play three games each over the course of the four-day event, with games taking place on Friday, Saturday and Monday. All games are free and open to the public to attend at Swope Soccer Village. Matches will consist of two 40-minute halves with winners receiving three points for a win and ties being decided by a penalty shootout.
