Twas the first day of December, when all through the Park,
Not a supporter was cheering, not even blue's bark.
The season was done, for Sporting KC this year,
But 2016 soon would be near.
The players all training at their local field,
With visions of MLS Cup and the Supporters Shield.
And Peter with his army all ready to scout
He’ll find the best new additions; there is no doubt.
When all of a sudden there arose such a clatter,
Besler sprang from the field to see what was the matter.
Away to the sideline he ran really fast,
And then our team captain, he made a loud gasp.
The field looked different than ever before
It was a person or object with a new allure,
When, what to the wondering eyes should make way,
But a Sporting KC elf on the shelf ready to play!
The elf was real little, but lively and quick
It was clear who’d be the team's next draft pick.
But he mysteriously vanished as quick as he came,
Leaving a letter about this new game.

Ellis, Tim and Dwyer!
And Benny and Roger!
Plus Paulo and Myers!
