2014 saw We Defend Together. In 2015, we were Made In KC. On Sunday, Sporting Kansas City will launch its 2016 marketing campaign during Super Bowl 50 between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers.

There is no set time for the commercial to run on KCTV5, but it is expected to feature toward the end of the second quarter around the two-minute warning. The commercial will also debut Sporting KC’s new secondary kits which will be worn during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Sporting KC’s Super Bowl spot will be narrated by Tech N9ne. This isn’t the first time that Sporting KC and the Kansas City-based rapper have worked together. Tech performed at Children's Mercy Park prior to the 2013 Eastern Conference Championship second leg match against the Houston Dynamo and recorded the voiceover for a video that played in-stadium before MLS Cup 2013.

“You know I gotta support my hometown teams,” Tech N9ne told Tim Finn the Kansas City Star when asked about the commercial with Sporting KC. “Everyone’s been showing major love since we dropped my song ‘KCMO’ after the Royals won the World Series. When I heard Sporting KC wanted to include me in their Super Bowl ad, I was like ‘Hell, yeah!’ You know I’m always gonna rep my city.”
