SPR unveils festivities for club's first match at Swope Soccer Village

Swope Park Rangers vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 - April 27, 2016

Children's Mercy Victory Field in Swope Soccer Village has become a distinctive destination for Kansas City soccer fans since opening less than three years ago. Now the intimately-configured venue will serve as the official home of the Swope Park Rangers in 2016, hosting the first of 13 USL matches at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 27.

Tickets, starting as low as $12, are available via Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL.

FIRST PLACE IN REACH

The Swope Park Rangers and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 can each move atop the Western Conference table with a victory when the sides meet. WFC2 is led by captain Kyle Greig, who played collegiately at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, and also featured for the Kansas City Brass.

BEAT THE WHITECAPS

The MLS and USL schedules align for a Kansas City-Vancouver doubleheader separated by some 2,000 miles. SPR will kick things off at 7 p.m. CT in front of the home faithful, followed by the MLS sides squaring off at 9:30 p.m. CT live on SKCTV from north of the border. Want the best viewing experience for both? Go straight from Swope Soccer Village to No Other Pub and score free food. SPR supporters can snag a voucher valid for a free appetizer with $20 purchase.

DOLLAR HOT DOGS ON BUCK NIGHT

Those in attendance can also take advantage of $1 hot dogs as part of Buck Night, an exclusive deal during all four Swope Park Rangers mid-week matches this year. Food and drink stands will be set up for fans in the corners of the concourse. The 21-and-over crowd can also enjoy 12-ounce Boulevard products and 16-ounce Budweiser products for $5 all season long.

COMMEMORATIVE POSTER SERIES

April 27 will be the first in a series of five commemorative Swope Park Rangers posters that will be distributed throughout 2016 to showcase memorable moments from the club's inaugural season. The 12x18 prints will be available to the first 1,000 fans inside the gates, which open at 6 p.m. CT (one hour prior to kickoff).

Swope Park Rangers props will be available inside the photo booth and the 4x6 photos will also be custom-branded.

IN SUPPORT OF LQVE HAITI

SPR will be showing support for MidAmerica Nazarene University's LQVE Passion to Serve project, which benefits four communities in Haiti through soccer and basic healthcare services. The LQVE HAITI initiative is in honor of Quincy Foster, a former MNU women's soccer player, who was killed in a car accident last year. MNU students are now aiming to raise $50,000 for the project and there will be a silent auction with Swope Park Rangers memorabilia. Fans are also encouraged to donate new or gently used soccer equipment for children in Haiti. In addition, the MNU men's soccer team, which finished runners-up at the NAIA Men's Soccer Championship in December, will also be honored at halftime for their outstanding season.
