The result keeps the club in fifth place in the Western Conference ahead of Tuesday's 2016-17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League opener at Central FC in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.

The group stage match at Ato Boldon Stadium will kick off at 7 p.m. CT with an English-language live stream on CONCACAF's official Facebook page. A Spanish telecast of the contest will also air live on Univision Deportes Network. The CONCACAF Champions League is the region's premier club competition, featuring the best teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Sporting KC will then return home to continue MLS regular season play against eighth-place Vancouver Whitecaps FC (8-11-6, 30 points) on Saturday. Kickoff at Children's Mercy Park is set for 9 p.m. CT, and a limited number of tickets for the match are available via Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL. SKCTV and 38 The Spot will televise three hours of live coverage beginning at 8:30 p.m. CT, while local radio broadcasts will air on 99.3 FM (English) and 1340 AM (Spanish). The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show will air immediately after the match on 99.3 FM.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early on Saturday for a variety of pregame festivities. The newest Sporting Legends inductee will be honored during a special ceremony at halftime, and 10,000 fans exiting the stadium will receive free phone holders courtesy of match sponsor US Bank.

A new episode of the Sporting KC Show on Sports Radio 810 WHB will air live from No Other Pub (1370 Grand Blvd.) at 6 p.m. CT Tuesday. Hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine will preview Sporting Kansas City's opening match at Central FC later that evening and look ahead to another full weekend of action in Major League Soccer. Supporters are encouraged to attend the show at No Other Pub or join the discussion by calling 913-3-810-810. In addition, The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show on 99.3 FM will air live at No Other Pub at 9 p.m. CT following Tuesday's Champions League showdown.

The Swope Park Rangers lost 1-0 at Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday, falling to ninth place in the Western Conference and a point outside of playoff position. The Rangers (8-9-5, 29 points) will look to move back up the table when they return home Sunday for their second match at Children's Mercy Park, an all-important showdown with cross-state rivals Saint Louis FC (7-9-7, 28 points). The game will kick off at 6 p.m. CT and tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL.
