Jimmy Medranda to miss Oct. 16 match at RSL due to caution accumulation

Jimmy Medranda - Sporting KC at FC Dallas - August 13, 2016

Sporting Kansas City defender Jimmy Medranda will serve a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation after picking up his eighth yellow card of the season in Sporting KC’s 3-1 loss to the New England Revolution on Saturday.

Referee Alan Kelly issued Medranda a yellow card for a tactical foul on Kelyn Rowe in the 83rd minute of Saturday’s match. As a result, the Colombian defender will miss Sporting KC’s next match at Real Salt Lake on October 16.

In his third full season with Sporting KC, Medranda has set a career high in all categories including games played (27), games started (22), goals (1) and assists (2).

Sporting KC is currently in sixth place in the Western Conference with two games remaining in the regular season. The top six seeds from each conference earn a spot in the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs.
