Big news came out of Sporting KC this week with both Benny Feilhaber and Ike Opara signing new contracts with the club. Feilhaber just completed his fourth year with Sporting KC and is currently fourth on the club's all-time assists chart.
The All-Star midfielder and World Cup veteran joined Soren Petro on 810 WHB on Thursday to discuss his decision to re-sign with Sporting KC.
"There are two aspects to it," Feilhaber said of signing his new deal. "There are the soccer aspects to it and then the where are you playing, the location, your family, what is important for them and what is best for the kids. In both aspects, Kansas City was my number one choice regardless, but in that aspect it was far and away the best opportunity for my family to continue our lives here."
Feilhaber discussed a variety of topics with Petro, but the most important questions came during the Final Four where the U.S. MNT midfielder answered the question that is on the mind of a lot of national team fans. Listen to the podcast of the interview below.
