Erik Palmer-Brown called in to U.S. Under-20 National Team training camp

Erik Palmer-Brown - Jan. 15, 2017

Sporting Kansas City Homegrown defender Erik Palmer-Brown has been called in to the U.S. Under-20 National Team for the side's January Camp. The training camp will run from Jan. 15-23 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif.

Palmer-Brown recently returned to Kansas City after a year-long loan spell with Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto. The 19-year-old made 17 appearances for FC Porto's B team in 2016, winning the LigaPro title in May before adding his first professional goal against Leicester City's Under-23 side in the Premier League International Cup in November.

The Lee's Summit, Mo. native has made 10 MLS appearances since signing for the club in 2013, becoming the youngest defender in MLS history to appear in a game when he made his debut in May 2014. His last MLS appearance came as a late substitute in the 2015 regular-season finale against the LA Galaxy.

Palmer-Brown has played with the U.S. U-20s in the past, participating in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand and captaining the side at the 2015 Stevan Vilotic Tournament in Serbia. Palmer-Brown has previously represented the U.S. at the U-15, U-17 and U-18 levels.
