Felipe Hernandez & Will Little

Swope Park Rangers midfielders Felipe Hernandez and Will Little have been called in to the U.S. Under-19 National Team by head coach Brad Friedel for a weeklong camp in Sunrise, Fla. from Feb. 3-10. Both players joined Sporting KC for preseason training in Tucson, Ariz. over the last two weeks.

Hernandez and Little join 20 other players for the camp, where the U.S. U-19s will play friendlies against El Salvador and Miami FC. Only the Swope Park Rangers and Atlanta United FC had multiple players on the roster.

Hernandez has been a constant inclusion for the U.S. U-19s since August, appearing in one tournament and two training camps. The 18-year-old made his debut for the age group at the Stevan Vilotic-Cele tournament in Subotica, Serbia before taking part in camps in Chula Vista, Calif. (Oct. 3-10) and Sunrise, Fla. (Nov. 5-14).

The Nashville, Tenn. native signed a professional contract with the Swope Park Rangers on Jan. 6 after spending the last two and a half years with the Sporting KC Academy. Prior to signing with the Rangers, Hernandez scored seven goals in nine games for the SKC Academy U-18s in the 2016-17 Development Academy season.

Little, a wide midfielder from Johnson City, Tenn., is called in to the U.S. Youth National Team program for the first time. In 2016, Little led all SPR Academy signings with nine appearances in USL regular-season and playoff action.

The 18-year-old joined the SKC Academy in early 2015 and has scored 13 goals in 34 appearances for the U-18s, including three in 11 games in the 2016-17 season prior to signing his first professional contract with the Rangers.
