Sporting Kansas City defender Mechack Jerome and midfielder Peterson Joseph have been selected to the Haiti Men’s National Team, the club announced on Monday. Sporting Kansas City midfielder Mikey Lopez was named to the United States Under-20 Men's National Team on Monday, U.S. Soccer announced, for the 2013 Toulon Tournament from May 28-June 8 in France.

"It will be good preparation for the Under-20 World Cup," Lopez said. "These are good games against good teams. It will be great to be back with the team and build upon the chemistry that we gained through the Under-20 World Cup qualifiers."

Peter Vermes didn't mince words about the offside call that cost Sporting Kansas City two road points. Neither did the head of the Professional Referees Organization – or the official who made the call.

PRO Executive Director Peter Walton, a former Premier League referee, told MLSsoccer.com that assistant referee Matthew Nelson should not have called off Ike Opara's 29th-minute goal in Sporting's 1-1 draw with D.C. United on Sunday.

With his club nearing US Open Cup and CONCACAF Champions League play, Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes has acknowledged the importance of getting minutes for as many players as possible.

But with suspensions, injury and international duty, circumstances just aren't allowing him to do that as he tries to manage an ongoing series of roster shuffles.

The minutes weren't there for Bobby Convey. The interest from Toronto FC was.

The veteran left winger didn't ask to be traded from Sporting Kansas City to the Reds, Sporting manager Peter Vermes said on Friday, but the deal frees up a needed roster spot and gives Convey a chance to play.

(May 17, 2013) – Sporting Kansas City forwards Kei Kamara and Soony Saad were selected by their respective National Teams for upcoming international matches, the club announced on Friday. Kamara will join Sierra Leone from June 2-17 for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers versus Tunisia and Cape Verde Islands, while Saad will join the Lebanon Men’s National Team for the first time from May 25-31 for an international friendly against Oman.

Sporting Kansas City defender Matt Besler and midfielder Graham Zusi were named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster on Thursday ahead of two international friendlies and three FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, U.S. Soccer announced. Both players will join the U.S. Men’s National Team in Cleveland following Sporting Kansas City’s match against the Houston Dynamo on May 26.
