Sporting Kansas City II announced today the club’s schedule and roster for the 2024 preseason presented by Central Bank as the club prepares for year three in MLS NEXT Pro.
Fresh off a run to the Western Conference quarterfinals, Sporting KC II head coach Benny Feilhaber and assistant coach Ike Opara will begin preseason camp at Swope Soccer Village today. With a roster of MLS NEXT Pro contracted players, talented Sporting Kansas City Academy prospects and 12 trialists, SKC II will participate in daily trainings and five preseason friendlies over the next four weeks in preparation for the 2024 season.
Much like last year, SKC II opens preseason play against USL League One club Union Omaha in a closed-door friendly at Swope Soccer Village on Saturday, February 17 at 1 p.m. CT. A week later on Saturday, February 24, SKC II will take on the UMKC men's soccer team at Swope Soccer Village with kickoff slated for 2 p.m. CT.
On Saturday, March 2, Sporting KC II will travel to Wichita, Kan. to take on USL Championship side and former rival FC Tulsa in a 1 p.m. CT showdown. SKC II will return to Swope Soccer Village on Wednesday, March 6 to take on Rockhurst University at 3 p.m. CT before concluding preseason action on Saturday, March 9 against Central Methodist University at 2:30 p.m. CT.
The regular season begins eight days later on March 17 with a road trip to Houston Dynamo 2 before the home opener on March 24 against LA Galaxy II at Rock Chalk Park. Tickets for the home opener and all 2024 Sporting KC II home matches are on sale at SeatGeek.com now.

SKC II starts preseason with a roster full of top Sporting KC Academy prospects and a core of MLS NEXT Pro players including 2023 returnees Ethan Bryant, Sebastian Cruz, Coby Jones and Pau Vidal. This offseason, SKC II signed Sporting KC Academy product Nati Clarke to his first professional contract and added former first-team player and Kansas native Kortne Ford.
The roster has been bolstered by the addition of midfielders Jake Swallen and Haris Alisah as well as forward Roberto Hategan. The group of signed players will be joined by 12 trialists as well as several up and coming Academy players.
