What kind of impact will Sporting Park have on the community?
Sporting Kansas City’s state-of-the-art stadium will not only be one of the best soccer stadiums of its size in the world, but Sporting Park will also play an important part in the Kansas City community and beyond.
Sporting Park, the first major league professional sports stadium in the state of Kansas, is part of a development plan that also includes a nearby tournament-quality athletics complex with 18-24 fields and associated amenities to host national, regional and local youth and adult soccer tournaments, camps, leagues, practices and games. The overall development will have an estimated total economic impact of over $500 million annually and preliminary studies indicated that the athletics components will draw over 2.5 million outside visitors per year. In its entirety, the stadium and fields project will have created 2,400 new jobs and is part of a larger development that will create 8,300 new jobs with an average wage of over $40,000 per year, tripling the number of jobs in Village West and quadrupling the total salary.
