Sporting Kansas City and the Kansas City Zoo are teaming up to provide a soccer-themed experience on Saturday, June 11 in Swope Park, just minutes from the team’s Swope Soccer Village training facility. Fans are encouraged to join Sporting KC players Chance Myers, Benny Feilhaber, Seth Sinovic and Brad Davis for the second annual Sporting KC Day at the Zoo. The Zoo is offering $1 off the price of admission to guests that wear Sporting KC apparel (more details on ticket pricing below).
A new event will kick off this year’s activities as the Rare Experience Walk benefits rare disease patients and the Victory Project. The walk begins at 9 a.m. CT across from the Swope Park Bandstand. Free and open to the public, the walk wraps up next to the Kansas City Zoo entrance as the fun transitions inside with a full day of activities planned for attendees of all ages.
The rest of the day will include an interactive clinic led by Sporting KC coach John Pascarella and four Sporting KC players showcasing their skills alongside zoo animals. Sinovic and Davis will play soccer with the sea lions, while Feilhaber and Myers paint with orangutans.
Tickets for Sporting KC Day at the Zoo are available online at kansascityzoo.org or at the Kansas City Zoo gates. General admission adult tickets are $14.50 while discounted tickets are offered for children ages 3-11 ($11.50) and seniors 55+ ($13.50), as well as Jackson/Clay county residents. Admission is free for Friends of the Zoo members and all children two years old or younger.
