Sporting Kansas City will play it's final match against a Western Conference opponent on Saturday when Sporting Park welcomes the Colorado Rapids for a 7:30 p.m. CT kickoff. A year after Manager Peter Vermes guided the club to a 6-1-2 record versus teams from the West, fortunes have turned in 2013 as Sporting KC has struggled in cross-conference match-ups.
Sporting Kansas City's eight points in eight games against the West to date has the club needing a win tomorrow to avoid setting an all-time club low for fewest points per game against the West since the team moved to the Eastern Conference for the 2005 season.

*One game remaining (Saturday vs. Colorado)
One of the team's two wins against the West this season was a dramatic 2-1 victory on the road at Supporters' Shield leaders Real Salt Lake. The other came against bottom dwellers Chivas USA in a 4-0 thrashing at Sporting Park.
The #SKCvCOL series history is on Sporting KC's side. Colorado has not won in Kansas City since 2002 and are 3-16-5 all-time on the road against KC. However, Oscar Pareja's team is in the midst of a club-record nine game unbeaten streak which ranks second longest in MLS this season.
