The Victory Project and Sporting Club have constructed 21 futsal courts at 12 different locations across the metropolitan area — with at least one court in each of the eight districts of Wyandotte County. These futsal courts provide safe and accessible venues for community use, encouraging active and healthy lifestyles for local youth and fostering the growth of soccer in Kansas City.
The futsal court initiative is part of Sporting Club's vision to transform Kansas City into a preeminent model for soccer development and training. As the sport continues to grow in popularity, futsal courts across the city will give the community more exposure to this small-sided variant of soccer that is played around the world.
Many of these futsal courts comprise a major component of a long-term agreement between Sporting Club and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas. The flagship venture began with the opening of Children’s Mercy Park in 2011 and also includes the construction of the National Training and Coaching Development Center (Fall 2017) and the Wyandotte Youth Soccer Complex (March 2017).
