Welcome to the New KCWizards.com

New KCWizardscom

Supporters,

Welcome to the new KCWizards.com. After months of design and development, we’re finally ready to roll out version 1 of the site, a portion of the new MLSsoccer.com network. Our goal is to make KCWizards.com the place to go for soccer information in Kansas City. We won’t only show you content that we produce. Our site will also link out to the best news and notes throughout Kansas City and the Midwest.

We know that MLSsoccer.com has had some technical issues in the first couple of weeks since it launched. We also know that the tech team is working around the clock to fix all of these bugs and roll-out the full functionality of the sites. For the time being, stats aren't as easy to access as we would like and videos will not be as prevalanet here at KCWizards.com as we would prefer, but that will all change soon. For videos in the mean time, visit our YouTube channel. The look of some interior pages is also a bit choppy. We'll shore that up as well.

We have assembled a talented team of writers and video producers to keep you up to date with our club and soccer in general once the site functionality is completely shored up. Let’s meet them now:

Rob Thomson – Wizards VP of Communications
Robo, as he is known, oversees all communications from the organization and will contribute some light-hearted stories on occasion. He worked for the team as PR Director from 1997-2001 and then came back in 2006 when OnGoal took over. Needless to say, he has a lot of great stories about MLS and the Wizards.

Andrew Wiebe – MLSsoccer.com Beat Writer
Andrew joins MLSsoccer.com and KCWizards.com this season after a year off from the soccer-writing world. He got his soccer start as a sports columnist at the University Daily Kansan at KU and later with his own blog. Mr. Wiebe will cover the team for each game (home and away) and will provide tons of written and video content throughout the week as well.

Dave Borchardt – Wizards Play-by-Play/PR Manager
Dave joined the Wizards in 2008 from Sports Radio 810 WHB, where he had served for nine years as a producer and host. This year, Dave moves into the broadcast booth as the Voice of the Wizards. He will also help produce video and audio content for KCWizards.com.

Jake Yadrich – Wizards Video Operations
Jake joins the Wizards and KCWizards.com this year from our good friends at Fox 4. He spent five years at WDAF as a video tape editor, working mostly on the early morning show. Jake has been a rabid soccer fans for about 10 years. He will shoot and edit most of the videos you see here at KCWizards.com.

Alex Abnos – Wizards Press Officer
Alex re-joins the Wizards in 2010 after serving as an intern with the club during the 2008 season. Alex is a long-time Wizards fan and talented writer who has been on the books of American Soccer Daily, Yanks Abroad, No Short Corners and USA Today, among others. Look for periodic reports from Alex on the first team and other aspects of the organization.

Kyle Rogers – Digital Strategist
Kyle has been with the club since the end of the 2006 season and will lead up the day-to-day publishing and editing of KCWizards.com. He is also behind the team’s social media efforts, including the blog, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

We will also look to add other content producers over the next few days/weeks/months to cover other aspects of soccer in the area. If anyone is interested in contributing to the site, shoot an email to krogers@kcwizards.com. We’re always looking for folks to cover area college, high school and amateur soccer.

As with the launch of any new site (let alone 17 of them, as the MLS Digital team is working toward), we expect there to be some bugs. Please bear with us. If you see any glitches in the system or have any questions or suggestions, please email us at sitefeedback@kcwizards.com.

Thanks for stopping by. Check back often!
