On the game:
“We did not play well enough to win the game. We had a couple of actions here or there, but it wasn’t sustained.”
On the Wizards six game winless streak:
“I’m very frustrated, and I know that the players are as well. There have been several games where we played well, but things have not fallen our way. We’ll go back out and keep trying to make it happen on the training field, and then we’ll try to execute in the game. This stuff can turn very quickly.”
On Jonathan Leathers and Teal Bunbury’s first starts in 2010:
“I thought that Johnny did a good job throughout the course of the game. It’s hard for him to get a 90-minute game because he has not played a lot, but I thought he did well, and I thought Teal had some very good actions for his starting debut. I thought both of them did well.”

On his first MLS start:
“I felt good. I just tried to work hard and help my teammates out, working off the ball, trying to get back to places defensively, and when I got the ball just try and make things happen. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a win, so I’m definitely disappointed about that. Overall, I think we did well as a team. We created chances, but we’ve just got to find a way to win.”

On the game:
“We had a bunch of chances. I thought we had better chances than they did, and I thought we had the better of play, but that’s not always going to get you results. It was frustrating because we couldn’t get that first goal, and that first goal is always important. It’s disappointing because we created enough chances again to win the game.”
On the team’s current situation:
“We’ve got to win games. The results we have been getting have not been good enough. I would prefer to play ugly and create one chance and win 1-0 than create ten chances and lose 1-0. We’ve got to find a way to win, and that’s it.”

On the game:
“We had a lot of possession, but we didn’t create as many quality chances as we should have with all of that possession. That’s something we need to work really hard that. Give a lot of credit to Columbus for their defending. They defend very well and made it very difficult for us.”
On the team’s mindset:
“We still have to be positive and believe that we can get a good result. We need to score the first goal now and get a little confidence. We have to work hard each day at training and believe that we can get a good result against Real Salt Lake next week.”

On two wins in four days:
"Well, I'm extremely happy about getting six points in the last two tough, conference road games. Especially because this is a narrow field and it is difficult to play your best soccer on a field like this. We scored one goal and won, so I'm happy about that."
On the difficulties of two road games in four days:
“Sometimes it effects them mentally and sometimes physically, you can lose players to injury. So there are challenges especially because of the small amount of time in between games. We had a game Thursday so we only had two days to prepare.”
Was it easier having Schelotto back after Thursday?
"Absolutely not. You play different teams, and he brings quite a bit to the team, obviously. Every game is different. I'm glad to have him back, but I don't think it was easier."
On Renteria's goal:
"Right place, right time. He got a great feed from Guillermo. I think they were a little confused because of the corner, and they had to leave the post and that's what happens. "

On playing two games in four days:
"It's tough. The schedule makes didn't do us many favors. I think we had [three] games in the first 35 days, and I think we had [five] games in the last 21 days. It's tough. The guys … you saw it in about the 83rd minute. They started to fade because of the heat. But this team is tough, and it has a lot of pride. It’s going to do whatever it takes to grind out wins and we're going to do it all season.”
On the shot disparity:
"There was never really a really, really dangerous situation. I think we kept everything in front of us. My saves were easy and pretty predictable. The defense was making some stops, and it starts all the way up top with Steven Lenhart and goes all the way back with [Andy] Iro and [Eric] Burner. I think we were really solid defensively throughout."
On Renteria:
"He's a bull. He comes in, he brings energy, he's got no fear, he's strong as any player you'll find in the league, and he's got a great shot. He's tough to deal with on the field. I know I wouldn't want to go up against him. He's brought a lot of energy and timely goals as well."
