Wizards Offer Club to Country Special!

The Kansas City Wizards would like to encourage all soccer fans to attend Thursday night's match against the expansion Philadelphia Union (7 p.m. CT at CommunityAmerica Ballpark) and show their support for the transition between club and country that will take place Thursday night and Friday morning. Every soccer fan wearing a National Team jersey (whether that team is in the World Cup or not) will be eligible to receive a $10 walk-up ticket.

Families are encouraged to arrive early wearing their National Team gear, as a member of the Wizards coaching staff will conduct a clinic from 4:30-5:15 p.m. CT for children ages 14 and under wearing National Team jerseys. Children 14 and under who are season ticket holders will also be eligible to take part in the limited-availability clinic.

The FIFA World Cup kicks off Friday morning, and the Wizards are taking part in one of two MLS matches the night before the tournament begins. After Thursday's game, Kansas City is off until June 26 when the New York Red Bulls visit CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

All fans are encouraged to watch World Cup matches at the Summer of Soccer event in the Power & Light District downtown. Every World Cup game will be shown live on the big screen in the "Living Room" area of the KC Live! block, including the opener Friday between Mexico and South Africa (9 a.m. CT) and the marquee match Saturday between the United States and England (1:30 p.m. CT).
