Kansas City Wizards goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen has picked up his sixth NAPA Save of the Week award, this time for sprawling save on Philadelphia's Sebastien Le Toux that was deemed by voters as the best save of Matchday 22.
Nielsen’s save helped preserve the Wizards’ 1-1 draw with the Union at the PPL Park, and earned the Danish netminder his second consecutive Save of the Week award. He has won more Save of the Week awards than any other goalkeeper in the league this season.
Nielsen earned roughly 45 percent of the vote, more than enough to top runner-up and two-time SOTW winner Nick Rimando of Real Salt Lake (37.57 percent). Rimando denied New York's Juan Pablo Angel on the doorstep during RSL's 1-0 win over New York at Rio Tinto Stadium.
New York's Greg Sutton, FC Dallas' Kevin Hartman and D.C. United's Bill Hamid rounded out the field.
1. Jimmy Nielsen, 45.15%
2. Nick Rimando 34.57 %
3. Greg Sutton, 12.08%
4. Kevin Hartman, 7.51%
5. Bill Hamid, 0.69%
