The Kansas City Wizards have invited their 2010 Season Ticket Members to an exclusive sneak peek inside the team’s new stadium on Monday, October 4. The special event will mark the first time fans step inside the $160 million stadium, scheduled to open in June 2011.

Media members are invited to attend the event, which will include an opening introduction from Wizards President Robb Heineman at 4:40 p.m., followed by an overview of the stadium tour by OnGoal Vice President of Development David Ficklin.

All media and Season Ticket Members are asked to arrive at the Nebraska Furniture Mart parking lot at 4:30 p.m., and must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants in order to tour the stadium site. Media also must sign a waiver for the stadium site, available at the check-in desk at time of arrival.

The stadium tour will last approximately one hour, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., and additional one-on-one interviews will be available following the tour.

The Wizards state-of-the-art venue measures more than 340,000 square feet in size and is being built in Village West in Kansas City, Kansas and was designed as the first authentic American soccer stadium. The stadium will seat 18,500 for soccer matches and will include an 1800 square feet HD video board on the south end and a 250 square feet video board on the north end. The stadium’s most distinguishing element is a canopy roof that covers every section of the stadium.

The Wizards will host a second sneak peek opportunity for 2010 Season Ticket Members on Tuesday, October 5.

Season Ticket Members wishing to attend the event on Monday or Tuesday are asked to RSVP by emailing Sarah Mohsen at smohsen@kcwizards.com. STMs will receive a confirmation email with an attached release form, which must be completed and turned in upon arrival at the event.
