Sporting Club launched an online network for members on Wednesday that allows fans to connect with one another and Sporting Kansas City as the team moves into a new era with the opening of LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on Thursday night.
The membership program is free and anyone can become a member by signing up at SportingMembership.com.
Following the short registration process, members will be welcomed to the SportingMembership.com homepage where they can create a customized profile and access news, featured content and interact with the Walls of Fame for Sporting Kansas City players.
Through the new website, registered members will have the opportunity to receive complimentary tickets to the Members Stand at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park for three matches during the inaugural 2011 season, including the grand opening on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. CT.
Later tonight, those who have joined SportingMembership.com can attempt to reserve a free ticket for Thursday’s game on the Sporting KC page (button with shield) inside the website. The first 200 members to click the “Reserve Your Ticket” button on the dashboard at the bottom of the window will be able to pick-up a free ticket at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park from 3-8 pm on Thursday at the Members ticket redemption line located on the sidewalk outside the East Gate entrance (shown on right). Members who are awarded complimentary tickets through the membership website must show a valid photo ID and arrive no later than 8 p.m. CT – one hour prior to kick-off -- to claim their ticket on Thursday.
Additionally, those who are unable to secure a ticket via today’s online opportunity may take advantage of a second chance at the stadium on Thursday. A separate allotment of 200 tickets will be reserved for registered members and will be handed out beginning at 4:00 p.m. CT on Thursday to the first 200 members at the Membership day-of-game ticket line, also located outside the East Gate entrance (shown above). Members may arrive as early as they wish to wait in line, but tickets will not be distributed until 4:00 p.m. CT.
