Following a 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, Sporting Kansas City willhost Chivas USA on Saturday at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT with live TV coverage on KCTV5 beginning at 6:00 p.m CT. Saturday’s match will also be nationally broadcast by Galavisión and is presented by KSMO and KCTV5.

Sporting Kansas City leads the all-time series against Chivas USA with a record of 6-4-3 since the series began in 2005. Four of those wins have come at home, where Sporting Kansas City holds a 4-1-1 advantage over Chivas USA.

This is the second meeting between the two sides in 2011. The two sides squared off for MLS First Kick 2011 on March 19th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Rookie C.J. Sapong scored his first career goal in the second minute and Omar Bravo added two goals on his debut as Sporting Kansas City defeated their Western Conference counterparts by a 3-2 scoreline.

Chivas USA (5-7-6), currently sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference, enter Saturday night’s contest coming off of a 2-0 win at home with the Houston Dynamo over the weekend. The draw snapped a four-match winless streak that saw Chivas USA drop three straight decisions by a one-goal margin.

Chivas USA will most likely be without defender Jimmy Conrad for Saturday’s clash due to recovery from a concussion suffered earlier in the year. Other injury doubts include defender Ante Jazic due to a right calf strain, and midfielder Paulo Nagamura, who is suffering from a strained left quadricep. Conrad and Jazicboth featured in the season opener against Sporting Kansas City, with Conrad scoring the first goal of the year for Chivas USA.

For Sporting Kansas City, captain Davy Arnaud will be out after undergoing successful sports hernia surgery this week. Defender Seth Sinovic is also out following a right hamstring strain in training last week. Midfielder Craig Rocastle is still rehabbing his right knee following a sprain suffered while playing for Grenada at this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Tickets for the match are still available, and can be purchased here. KCTV5 will air a 30-minute pre-game show hosted by play-by-play announcer Callum Williams, in addition to the weekly soccer show on KSMO, ‘Off the Pitch’ with Sporting Kansas City, on Sunday at 9:30 p.m. CT.

Fans are encouraged to arrive to LIVESTRONG Sporting Park as early as possible on Wednesday. Prior to the match, ‘Trio Aztlan’ will perform in the Sprint Plaza as part of the Live at LSP concert series, presented by INK. Additionally, there will be a special screening of ‘Rise and Shine: The Jay Demerit Story’ at 2:00 p.m. in the Members Club. Details on the screening can be found here

Fans that would like to attend the screen should park in Lot F initially, and then move to their assigned lot once the film has concluded. Following the match, there will be a postgame party in the Members Club featuring a performance from DJ Mike Scott.
