Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Eric Kronberg is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks with a lower back injury, the club announced Thursday. The 28-year-old is the longest tenured player for Sporting Kansas City and enters his seventh season with the club in 2012 after being drafted out of the University of California in 2006.

The Santa Rosa, Calif. native posted 10 saves in four MLS appearances in 2011 and recorded his first career shutout in a scoreless draw at Toronto. Kronberg also started eight MLS Reserve League matches in 2011, recording three shutouts.
