Bunbury begins road to Olympics

Sporting Kansas City striker Teal Bunbury came off the bench to play 45 minutes last night in the United States Under-23 Men's National Team's 6-0 win over Cuba at LP Field in Nashville. Bunbury entered at halftime, replacing NYRB striker Juan Agudelo as Caleb Porter's first of three allotted subs, and wore No. 12 in the opening game of the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Bunbury nearly made his mark less than a minute into the second half, holding off two defenders before the Cuban GK came off his line to make a sliding save. Bunbury threatened again in the 80th minute but his attempt was turned away by Odisnel Cooper.

The team's next Group A match comes tomorrow night at 6 p.m. CT against Canada (live on Universal Sports Network, Mun2, CONCACAF.com). A win will assure the U.S. of a spot in the semifinals, to be held right here in Kansas City at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.
